P K Das Institute of Medical Sciences is a health care initiative by the Nehru College of Educational and Charitable Trust.
The Nehru College of Educational and Charitable Trust was established in 1968 under the visionary leadership of Late P K Das, a distinguished chartered engineer, esteemed academician, industrialist, and philanthropist, the Nehru College of Educational and Charitable Trust is dedicated to setting state-of-the-art standards in higher education, both professional and non-professional. With a focus on excellence, the educational institutions established by the Trust have evolved into centers of excellence in their respective fields, serving as benchmarks in their categories. The Trust's commitment to quality education and holistic development has made a significant impact in the realm of higher education.

Tribute to a great leader
Whenever, we hear the name, Nehru Group of Institutions, immediately the name of its Chairman, Late Sri. P.K. Das, F.I.E, F.I (Mech. E), A.F.R.Ae.S (London), M.Ae. S.I, M.S (Engg.), C. (Engg) comes to our mind. His name is synonymous with Nehru Colleges, the bench mark Institutions, in the field of professional and non professional higher education in South India.
Starting from very humble beginnings, he rose to establish 10 prestigious Educational Institutions, each one a bench mark in its own category. He was hardly 29 years of age, when he began to establish as an academician and an Institution Builder.
He laid the foundation of the 350 Bed Super Specialty Hospital at Vaniyamkulam with the intention of establishing a state of the Art, Medical Centre of Excellence to cater to the needs of people of Kerala and adjoining Tamilnadu. His dream was to raise it to the level of Premium Health Care Institutions in the world. Unfortunately he couldn't see his dreams fulfilled in his life time.
P.K.Das Institute of Medical Sciences is our tribute to this great academician, institution builder, philanthropist, and above all a noble man.
