Hands that Heal, Hearts that Care: A Tribute to Nursing Excellence International Nurses Day Celebrated at PK Das Institute of Medical Sciences The International Nurses Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and dignity at PK Das Institute of Medical Sciences, marking a heartfelt tribute to the dedication and service of the nursing community. The event began with a one-minute silence in memory of the late Founder Chairman, Shri P.K. Das, setting a solemn and respectful tone for the proceedings. Following the prayer song, Ms. Sheenamma Joseph delivered the welcome address. The ceremony officially commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the distinguished guests. Nursing Superintendent Ms. Soumya Ganesh led the Nurses Pledge, reaffirming the commitment of nurses towards compassionate and ethical patient care. The inaugural address was delivered by Principal Dr. Satish G. Prabhu, who highlighted the vital role of nurses in the healthcare system. He emphasized the importance of compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment that define the nursing profession and acknowledged their invaluable contribution to patient care and recovery. As part of the program, newly introduced departments at the institution were also presented. Dr. Amel V. Nair from the Robotic Surgery Department, Dr. G.M. Shafeek from the Spine Surgery Department, Ms. Simna C from the Vascular Surgery Department, and Ms. Shraddha Sreenivas from the Endocrine Surgery Department introduced themselves and provided insights into their respective specialties. In recognition of their dedicated service, nurses from various departments were honored during the ceremony. Dr. Sathyajith R., DMS, Mr. John Joseph, GM (HR), and Mr. Shailesh Chandran, Senior Manager Operations, extended their greetings and appreciation. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Deputy Nursing Superintendent Ms. Betty K.K. Prize distribution and a variety of cultural programs added color and vibrancy to the celebration, making it a memorable occasion for all attendees.
